After the show they played on a bouncy castle and did face painting, nails, water transfers, hook a duck, treasure map and the day ended with a raffle. Parents had brought in food for lunch and there were lots of cakes. Funds raised from the day will be used to build an all weather canopy in the outside play area.

The Montessori Schools Association held their annual conference in March. All the teachers from Rushmore House Montessori Day Nursery and Orpington Montessori Preschool attended. Ms Shahroudi, the Group Manager says:
"Our staff benefit from the learning experience of the conference and the comradeship of their fellow Montessorians. Many settings only send their manager and deputy manager. We pay the registration fees for all our staff because of the benefits this brings to the preschools and the children."
Marie Minne celebrated her 106th Birthday in Belgium. They released 106 birthday balloons; attached to the ends on these was a card with Marie's address. The children, from both Orpington and Rushmore House Montessori, were walking to the wood, during a Forest School session. By chance they found one of these balloons on the pathway. The children made balloons and stuck them onto a large banner The banner had a map showing the journey of the balloon and a birthday card from the preschools. It has been a very exciting experience for all the children and we hope that she will like the birthday card.
